FAQs

How long does orthodontic treatment usually take?

The duration varies depending on your case, typically ranging from 12 to 36 months. Your orthodontist will provide a specific timeframe based on your personalized treatment plan.

What types of braces are available?

We offer traditional metal braces and tooth-colored ceramic braces for your orthodontic needs.

Are clear aligners as effective as traditional braces?

Clear aligners can be highly effective for many orthodontic issues, depending on complexity. However, they may come at a higher cost compared to traditional braces.

Do braces hurt?

Some initial discomfort or soreness is normal after braces are applied or adjusted. This usually subsides within a few days with the help of over-the-counter pain relievers and orthodontic wax.

What is the process before the first consultation?

We recommend visiting the clinic to obtain a hard copy X-Ray (OPG) referral letter, which can be cheaper than market price when taken at an assigned clinic. Alternatively, patients can obtain a soft copy referral letter through WhatsApp.

How often will I need to visit the orthodontist during treatment?

Regular visits are scheduled every 4 to 8 weeks to monitor progress and make adjustments. Appointments can be booked with our receptionist after each treatment session.

How do I care for my braces?

Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing regularly. Avoid foods that can damage braces, such as hard, sticky, or chewy items. Your orthodontist will provide detailed care instructions.

What should I do after getting my tooth extracted?

Manage mild discomfort with Panadol and avoid strenuous activities for at least 3 days. Follow dietary guidelines for soft foods and cold drinks. Rinse gently with mouthwash 2-3 times daily and contact us if bleeding persists or sharp pain occurs.

What should I do if I have a broken bracket or wire?

Contact our office promptly for a repair appointment. In the meantime, use orthodontic wax to cover sharp edges and prevent discomfort.

What happens after my braces are removed?

After braces removal, wearing a retainer is necessary to maintain teeth alignment. Your orthodontist will provide specific instructions on retainer use and care.
